Nearly 100 years ago, Jacob Ritter, the grandfather of the current owner Arno Ritter, laid the foundation in Brensbach, in the heart of the idyllic Odenwald. After processing the first thermoplastic plastics in 1932, the production of plastic casings for ballpoint pens began as early as 1950. From these beginnings, Ritter-Pen evolved into a leading specialist in the production of components for the writing instruments industry. The core competencies of toolmaking, plastic injection molding, as well as finishing and assembly, embody the Ritter-Pen philosophy: “From idea to finished product.”

Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, the tool and mold-making department forms the basis and manufactures injection molds for components of the highest quality. Approximately 40 injection molding machines operate in a two-shift system, producing plastic parts in various shapes and colors. Biobased and recycled plastics are now processed alongside conventional ABS plastic.

Sustainable practices have always been a focus, integrated into all areas of the company. Gradually, energy- and resource-efficient measures are implemented throughout the production process. In addition to many small steps, a photovoltaic system with a capacity of around 400,000 kWh per year now provides the necessary energy for their machinery.

Environmental considerations play an increasingly important role in the selection of the right pen. Alongside classic plastic items, our product range includes models made from sustainable materials. Over 30 years ago, the first pen made from recycled cardboard, the “Carton” by Ritter-Pen, entered the market. Currently, models made from innovative, biobased materials such as cellulose and starch, as well as various recycled plastics, form the basis of our Ritter-Cares series. Climate-neutral products Made in Germany resonate with the times and serve as perfect brand ambassadors for our customers.

To effectively convey and showcase our customers’ brands, Ritter-Pen, like few other pen manufacturers, is synonymous with CI-compliant customization. Each Ritter-Pen becomes a unique, unmistakable promotional ambassador through our modular system, allowing for the free configuration of components and various types of refills. In addition to perfect color design, the smooth writing experience provided by our Balance-Flow refills embodies the values of quality and professionalism that our customers want to associate with their brand.
