Ritter Cares about you!
At Ritter-Pen, sustainability is a lived philosophy. In addition to many measures such as the use of green electricity and the use of LED technology, sprues, leftovers and scrap parts are recycled as regrind in our production process. This in-house recycling process conserves our resources and protects our climate and the environment.
BROWN ALGAE
RAW MATERIAL FROM THE SEA
The occurrence of brown algae (Sargassum) in the oceans has now become a major problem. Floating in the water, these algae carpets block the light and thus endanger the lives of many sea creatures.
Tons of sargassum wash up on many beaches and release toxic gases as they break down. We use this biomass as a raw material: in the new Ritter ALGO-PEN®.
Bio-based PLA forms the basis for this new development. With an addition of 20% brown algae, we use this new material to produce the ALGO-PEN® – the first ballpoint pen “born in the ocean”.
